BIOGRAPHY

Hunter’s rural upbringing in North Carolina was tied closely to craft and making. His parents worked in stained glass, wood, and pottery. He spent much his youth working in their studios practicing and learning from these crafts. After graduating with honors and winning the AIA gold medal, Hunter spent two decades practicing architecture in Los Angeles, New York, and Paris. Deviating from the constraints of architecture, his work in sculpture explores interests in sensation, memory, and intuition. His primary medium is wood, responsibly sourced from local forests and neighborhoods surrounding his home in Los Angeles.
